Lan Zhan (蓝湛, Lán Zhàn), courtesy name Lan Wangji (蓝忘机, Lán Wàngjī) is the second born son of the Gusu Lan Clan.He is known for his strong moral compass and earns the title Hanguang-Jun, going where people need help and wherever chaos reigns.Despite being known for assisting those in need, he is quite reserved and quiet. He is seen as cold but never impolite. however, he is a passionate, caring man who would go great lengths for those he cares about.lan zhan and his brother, lan xichen were raised from a young age by their uncle, Lan qiren. Their father stayed in seclusion and they were only permitted to see their mother once a month until her death. even after their mother's death, lan zhan still visited his mother's home.under their uncle's strict care, lan zhan grows to be a "perfect disciple", following each of his clan's many rules and becoming a talented cultivator. He does not have many friends, finding his training to be more important than cultivating friendships. he begins to warm, with the (unwanted) friendship with Wei Wuxian.
